The city: Paris

Paris, the well known City of Lights and probably the most beautiful city in the world. This magnificent city, agitated by centuries of history owes its name to the “Parisii” tribe, which established their city on the edges of the Seine in -53 B.C.
During the Roman epoch, the "Parisii Hamlet" stretched over the left side of the island. It was the population of Lutécia, from which certain rests appear even at present.
The people of Lutécia did not succeed in having a political prominence during the Roman reign. Nevertheless the place became very fast the centre of the kingdom of Francs and continued stretching through the medieval epoch.
Protected by his political prominence, the city knew a cultural fame, thanks to its University, “The Sorbonne”, which theorized a multitude of remarkable men’s of this epoch.
In the course of the centuries, the big kings of the “Bourbonienne” monarchy continued to extend and spread the borders of the Parisian city, which was going to know a lot of tragedies during the 18th century, especially because of the French Revolution of 1789.
Later, the King Napoleon continued the urban development of the city that he liked to transform into “The capital of the civilized world”.
The city is divided in two parts: The Left Border, called “Rive Gauche”. In most cases a tourist Zone. Monuments such as Eiffel Tower, the military academy, the Invalids, the Palace and the gardens of Luxembourg, but also the famous University “The Sorbonne” named before, as well as the Pantheon are located there. The Right Border, called “Rive Droite”.
Business centre but also an important tourist area. There, you will find the famous Avenue of Champs Elysées, the triumphal arch, the Concorde Place, The Garnier Opera, but also the Tuileries gardens, and the famous Montmartre. In the center of the city are two very well known islands.
